Charles Travis, AIA
Founder & Principal Architect
With more than 35 years in the field of residential architecture, Charles has built one of the most respected firms in the Austin area. A University of Texas graduate and an active member of the American Institute of Architects, Charles founded the firm in 1999. Since then he has assembled a team of uniquely talented design professionals who are driven by a passion to maintain fresh insight into the way their designs respond to site, context and lifestyle.
Alice Travis
Managing Partner
After receiving her degree from North Texas State University, Alice pursued a 20 year career in Education, then joined the firm in 1999. Outside the studio Alice volunteers her time at Warm Heart International, which raises funds and awareness for fresh water access and sanitation in Malawi. In addition to organizing an annual summer camp for grandkids, Alice enjoys long walks, biking, golfing and photography.
Darin Biediger, AIA
Associate Architect
Darin joined chas architects in 2019. He is a registered architect with over twenty years of experience in high-end residential design. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects. Darin believes it is the architect’s responsibility to truly connect with clients and understand their vision, then hone those ideas into a home design which exceeds their expectations. In his free time, Darin is an avid reader, loves art and design, and enjoys exploring the hike and bike trails of Austin.
